Sustained by Friendship

-dedicated to all my friends... May your example of love and kindness that has been lavished on me throughout the years be a beacon of hope to a mother in need!!

What type of friend do you Consider yourself to be?

There are times in our lives when the only way to make it through is to lean on a friend...

Living, breathing, working, loving, caring for our little people can leave us drained, exhausted, guilt-filled and done. Done with motherhood. Those are the times we realize our lives are built on one another.
We need friends in our lives that will encourage, admonish, listen and contribute wherever and whenever needed. The offered childcare, the given meal, and listening ear could be the difference between a complete mom meltdown and making it through the day. Do you see a friend teetering on the edge? One that is overburdened, sleep deprived, and struggling to keep up?

Won’t you step in and be the type of friend that is not afraid of real life people dealing with real life.

I think true friendship takes a long time to build, at least several years or knowing someone, before you can be totally honest and at ease and not be afraid to step in and offer advice/help even if it has not been asked for. True friends are the ones who, even if you no longer see them that much because you've moved away or your lives are on different paths, will drop everything to be there for you in a time of crisis.

Great post today - we all need to reach out more and offer a helping hand

What a beautiful post! Loved the duckies! Good friends are forever and ever loving. I only have a few but that's better than none and so I'm thankful they have stood the test of time. A good friend is a good find.
